Outlining your vows effectively

Look at these outlines and examples as blueprints geared to get your vows up and running.  You do not need to follow any form or pattern however if your comfortable you may want to consider working within one of the following outlines.

Outlines: 1

Groom: (Initial statement relating to the past.)
example: When I was a child, I thought nothing would ever persuade me to leave home when it came time for me to find a job and create a new life.  But that was before I met you.
Bride: (Initial statement relating to the past.)
Example: As a young girl I dreamed of my prince charming where I could live my life side by side and step by step.  I have found that place in your heart.
Groom: (Statement relating to partner.)
Example: I've learned though you that love is a direction and not a destination
Bride: (Statement relating to partner.)
Example: You have taught me that, when someone is there no matter what, trust and commitment come without effort, of their own accord.
Groom: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship.)
Example: I pledge to you my future, I will share all my tomorrows with you and no other.
Bride: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship.)
Example: I pledge to you my future, I will share all my tomorrows with you and no other.
 

Outline 2

Groom: (Extended statement incorporating past events that were  developed in answering the questions in the guidelines article. and ending in a statement of your commitments to one another)
Example:  The first thing I noticed about you was __________.  We were both ______ in ______.  and when I asked her ____________ she ____________.  Brides Name, your _________ and  __________ have won my heart utterly.  From this day forward, I will stand by your side.  You are the one I will be true to always.  Let us make our lives together.
Bride: (Extended statement incorporating past events that were  developed in answering the questions in the guidelines article. and ending in a statement of your commitments to one another)
Example: The first thing I noticed about you was __________. Describe what he was doing when you noticed him.  From this day forward, I will stand by your side.  You are the one I will be true to always.  Let us make our lives together.

Outline 3

Bride: (Opening verse of favorite song or quote from a book or poem  that is meaningful to you as a couple.)
Example: Grow old along with me!
Groom: (continued cited material.)
Example: The best is yet to be.
Bride: (more cited material)
Example: The last of life, for which the first was made.
Groom: (more cited material)
Example: Our times are in his hand.  Who saith, a whole I planned, Youth shows but half.  Trust God, see all, nor be afraid!
Bride: God Bless our Love
Groom: God Bless our Love
Bride: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship)
Example: Name, in this assembly of friends and family, I take you today as my husband.  I do this in certainty of my soul, and knowing that you are my true life partner.  I will love you, honor  you, and cherish you for the rest of our days, so long as we shall live
Groom: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship)
Example: Name, in this assembly of friends and family, I take you today as my husband.  I do this in certainty of my soul, and knowing that you are my true life partner.  I will love you, honor  you, and cherish you for the rest of our days, so long as we shall live

Outline 4

Bride: (dictionary aspect important aspect of your relationship)
Example: The Dictionary defines love as the attraction or affection felt for a person who elicits delight admiration.
Groom: (Elaboration on this theme, extending into your own interpretation, as a couple, of the word or phrase.)
Example: For us, as we begin our lives together, that definition is only a beginning.  We make a commitment to our love today, and we see it as a willingness to give, to see, oneself through another, and to work together to make the best of parts of ourselves a reality.
Bride: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship)
Example: My love for you is the foundation upon which I want to build my life.  Take this ring as a sign of my  faith
Groom: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship)
Example: My love for you is the foundation upon which I want to build my life.  Take this ring as a sign of my  faith

Outline 5

Groom: (write a brief statement acknowledging and celebrating the gathering of your family and friends)
Bride: (write a longer statement in continuation of what the groom has said)
Groom: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship)
Bride: (Promise or commitment in terms you feel are appropriate for your relationship)

Groom: (write a scriptural statement that is meaningful to you)
Bride: (continue with cited material)
