Theme weddings have grown in popularity.
They allow the couple a chance to express their personalities and
to show their creative side. If you love romance, then this theme
will be one which you'll want to consider.
Each table will reflect intimacy while covered in lace. Rose or
flower petals are scattered casually across each, and their scent
will continue the theme. You have many options for centerpieces,
but here are a few that easily lend to the theme. The first is
comprised of a lace covered pillar candle which is then flanked by
two champagne flutes with a floating flower in each. If you place
these centerpieces on a mirror, you will also have the light of
the candles softly reflected.
One of my favorite ideas is combining white Christmas lights and
tulle. If you decide on this, be sure to use "cool-to-the-touch"
lights so that there is no possibility of a fire hazard. You can
wrap the cord in satin ribbon if you wish to hide the green, and
then wrap tulle in between the lights. Or if you prefer, you could
make swags out of the tulle, and then string the lights in order
reflect the shape of the swags. The combination of tulle and white
lights is truly beautiful and very romantic.
Another option for centerpieces would be a huge bowl piled high
with fresh red strawberries. You could surround the bowl with
heart-shaped containers or champagne glass favor holders filled
with chocolate dipping sauce. Yet another idea would be to buy
flowering plants. Each plant could be showcased in a basket which
is decorated with bits of lace, tulle or satin ribbon.
If you decide to forego the idea of scattered flowers or rose
petals, but still would like to add ambience with scent, you can
opt to add Heart shaped boxes or bowls filled with potpourri
instead. Vanilla scented potpourri would be a wonderful choice as
there are very few people who dislike this scent. Heart shaped
candle holders and vanilla scented candles could also be
scattered, a few on each table.
A few things that will add to your romantic theme are: candles,
flowers, lace, tulle, lights, and scent. This theme is easier to
execute for a small and intimate gathering in the evening, and is
perfect for an adult only reception. However, you could also use
elements of these ideas for a larger gathering or one that occurs
in the daytime.
