Second Weddings

I am due to get married on Oct. 5. The dress that I picked out and absolutely loved is white. My fiancι and I have 3 children together and have been together for 8 years. My mother and his mother are fussing at me saying that I am supposed to wear an Ivory or Beige dress. Is this correct?

In years past, your mother and mother-in-law would have been correct.  Today, however, brides choose to wear the color that looks best on them, whether they are marrying for the first time, second time, or have three children as you do.  Consequently, you will see first time brides who are red heads wearing beige or ivory and second time brides who look best in white wearing white.  The two no-nos that still stand are that you should choose a dress with either no train or a very short one, and you should not wear a veil over your face or near your face.  A short veil worn on the back of your head is fine, or you might choose to wear a tiara or something else and no veil.

If you really like the dress and it looks good on you, go for it.
