Hello, I would like to have advice on some ideas for
my vow renewal. We were going to have it out at my father in
laws house which is in the country, I brought a trellis from ebay and plan on
using that for our backdrop between 2 big trees, What shall I serve? It will be a casual event so I was thinking
on the lines of cake and punch and maybe take a few people out to dinner with us
and swiss off to a motel for the night, we are only having immediate family
members present for the vow renewal. What shall I wear, I have a pink to
peach like cocktail suit dress I was going to wear and my husband a pair of
dress pants, white dress shirt and black tie. we weren't going to have anybody
stand up with us. Could you please email me
with any ideas for this type of ceremony
What you have planned sounds just right for a vow renewal. You can have
anyone perform the service, since it isn't a legal ceremony. Therefore, your
dad, a grandfather, or another relative or friend can perform it. You don't
need to have witnesses, as you mentioned, nor do you need a bouquet, though
you might want to have a corsage and a boutonnière for your husband.
Your dress sounds fine, or you could even go a
bit more casual if you want. The cake and punch reception is fine also. You
could also have a picnic or a BBQ if you decide to make it a longer
reception instead of going out to dinner. Be sure to have several people
bring cameras to record the happy occasion.
Best wishes to you on this happy occasion.
