Q. I have went over my budget
already and I am still needing wedding programs so I thought I
could do them myself on the computer. I have looked a several
examples of programs but I am not finding what I need. I need a
program format for a catholic/Hispanic wedding. Ex: Lasso, Arias,
Etc
A. Programs are easy to make yourself. You can either print all of
them yourself or your can take your master to a copy center like
Kinkos and have them run off a quantity in the paper of your
choosing. This is often less expensive than having to replace
the ink cartridge on your printer.
A wedding program simply outlines
what will happen in the order that it will occur. When you and
your fiancé discuss the order of the service with your priest,
he will tell you how he intends to proceed. Then, use his
outline. For example, you will start with:
Seating of the grandmothers and
mothers
Processional
Entry of the bride
Opening Prayer
First Reading
Continue on like this, including
the lasso and the arias in the proper places. You can include
the musical selections if you want to. To do so, you would say
Seating of the grandmothers and
mothers...........Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
Processional....................................................Canon
in D
Your guests won't be concerned
about the detail of the program. They will be more interested
in the listing of the members of the wedding party and knowing
who those people are and how they are related to you (such as
college roommate of the groom).
Best wishes for your wedding.
