I will have 6 groomsmen
and 6 bridesmaids. Do the groomsmen walk in followed by the
bridesmaids or do they walk down the isle two at a time?
This portion of the processional is mostly a style decision, though
sometimes location logistics also play a role.
The most traditional processional set-up usually has the groom and best man entering the church from the vestry/side/rear of the altar area.
(In some locations, this is not possible/practical, in which case the
groom and best man make their way to the altar usually by a side aisle
when the guests are seated.)
Then when the guests are all seated, and after they have escorted the
grandmothers and mothers to their seats, the ushers usually proceed in
pairs (though they can walk singly in a narrower aisle or if you prefer)
down the aisle to the altar area.
Then the maids enter (again, either in pairs or singly) to the altar,
followed by the maid/matron of honor, and the ring bearer and/or flower
girl.
In the recessional, one maid and one man customarily walk together in
pairs.
However, quite a few couples do like the look of having the maids and
men walk in as well as out together. (It also sometimes makes both
maids and men less nervous about the processional.)
Since you have such a large bridal party, it seems practical to me to
have the attendants walk in *some* sort of pairs, just to keep the
processional as short as possible. Whether you choose the look of men
and maids separately or mixed maid/man couples, I would say, is really
up to your personal preferences.
