I lack a DJ or organist and may need to rely on recorded music.
There's no problem with recorded music. It is inexpensive, customizable
and practical. Also, many weddings don't have a DJ or live musicians.
You are not alone in that.
What you need to do is to make sure that the music you'll use is in an
easy form to play, that you have someone responsible playing it, and
that you have enough speakers and volume to make the music heard.
Remember an open area will tend to dissipate the sound, and a large
group of people always seems to absorb it (I only say that from
experiences, not from any scientific knowledge. <giggle> )
You'll also want to make sure you've checked the timing of the music
against the things that must happen during that song. For more on
music, you might enjoy the following article.
