Q. My daughter is planning on getting married in a small ceremony (by small, I mean most likely under 30 guests). She has asked me to be the matron of honor. I have mixed feelings. Is it proper for the mother of the bride to also be the matron of honor. She has always told me that I am her best friend and this is why she picked me

A. It is absolutely fine for The Mother of the Bride to also serve as The Matron of Honor. I can imagine nothing more special!

Just as many men will choose their Fathers to be the Best Man, the same logic goes with choosing a Mother as Matron of Honor. I think it's a wonderful idea.
