Q. We are having 3 bridesmaids and do not want to select one as a maid of honor. Is there such a role as personal attendant who could fulfill some of the maid of honor duties?

A. There is a position that some brides create called a personal attendant. Usually, a bride who has too many friends and needs to find jobs for them creates this position. A personal attendant helps only on the wedding day. She works with the coordinator to take care of details, helps the bride dress, runs any last minute errands, and such.

Since you don't want to choose a maid of honor, and one of the duties of the maid of honor is to sign the marriage license, then you will need to ask one of the bridesmaids to do that.
