Ideas
on How To Pop The Question
Written by Christy Anderson
It's a milestone in your relationship
and you are faced with the dilemma of how to pop the big question. Of course, some of us
are extremely creative in this undertaking, while some of us struggle for the words or
theme to make the proposal. There is a certain nervousness, apprehension and creativity
that drives the big question. It's a moment that everyone dreams of, no matter who does
the asking. Your future bride will tell her engagement stories time and time again in the
future. Why not give her wonderful story to tell. After all, what's a beautiful diamond
ring to her friends around the water cooler at work without an incredible story to
accompany it?
These are the type of things you'll
want to consider while planning your proposal. Now, let your imagination run wild and
brainstorm on the perfect way to ask her. You'll want to be sure to revolve the idea
around something of interest to her. This event is about her. So, think about what matters
to her, even if it doesn't mean as much to you. This event is about showing her how much
you love her and the lengths to which her love inspires you. For instance, if she loves
going to the movies with you, you might want to surprise her with a marriage proposal
written on the screen at your local movie theater. If she's an ocean-lover, how about
writing it in the sand at the beach? If her favorite color is pink, try enclosing it in a
pink balloon bouquet for her to pop and read the message within the balloon?
Maybe your sweetie is adventurous. In
that case, take some time and arrange a scavenger hunt and have the last clue lead to the
ring. How about sports? When you're running that marathon, why not fake a leg cramp and
drop to your knee along the race and ask her at the sidelines? The list goes on. Hopefully
these few ideas on proposing have at least sparked your imagination on how to make it
special.
Now, when you have thought on the
concept that you will use, you'll want to begin strategizing the plan. Take a moment and
review our "marriage proposal checklist" before rushing to ask her on the fly
while at the local Dairy Queen.
Creative Marriage Proposal Checklist
Have you identified a creative
scenario that strikes you as the perfect fit for her?
Have you secured the various
supplies, preparations necessary?
Have you thought about what friend or
family member you need to help you?
Have you given her the appropriate
clues to pull it off?
Have you arranged for the location to
be available?
Have you decided how you want to word
your proposal?
Have you investigated what type,
style and cut of diamond she likes?
Have you determined whether to let
her pick it out or whether you'll surprise her?
Have you purchased or made plans to
purchase the diamond?
Have you selected a date and time to
pop the question?
These are the type questions you'll
want to ask to really plan the marriage proposal well. Remember that a strong and happy
relationship goes far beyond the excitement of this magical moment. But, the beginning of
a fun marriage is made up of moments like this. And this just happens to be a moment that
you can prepare for in such a way that you will both remember it forever!
