What is the most given current cash gift amount.  When I married 30 years ago, it seemed to be $25.00? 


 

There really is no specific cash gift amount that is appropriate in every circumstance.  Rather, it will depend on your relationship to the bride and/or groom (are you related or good friends or only casual acquaintances), and your budget.  Generally, $25 is still an adequate gift if you don't know the couple well. 
 
If the couple are close to you, one way to decide on the amount to give is to determine what you would purchase if you were giving them a gift, then give a similar amount in cash.  I hope this helps.
