I was wondering is it too outdated to think of using a blusher?  I have found a beautiful veil, that offers the option of wearing the blusher, but I haven't seen them used in ceremonies I have attended recently.  If I choose to use one what are the proper procedures for wearing, and lifting?

Blushers are still worn, but not as often as they were in the past.  They should only be worn by first-time brides.  You can have the veil lifted by your father after he walks you down the aisle or by the groom.  If your father does it, after presenting you in marriage, he would lift the veil back, then give you a kiss, and then take his seat.

Alternatively, the groom can lift the veil after the vows when he is told to kiss the bride.  The choice is yours.  If you are having communion during the service, you will want to have your father lift the veil so that it isn't in the way.

Best wishes on your wedding.
