We will be presenting my son with a family medallion after our vows are said and my step-father will be reading a verse or poem at this time.  However, I'm having a hard time finding something that relates to family or children.

I do recall in previous research, that there are a couple websites that have additional wording for the family medallion ceremony.  If you have not visited those, you can find them by making a search for "family medallion" on any of the major search engines.  There might be additional suggestions there.

You can also go to your local library and look for some of the books available on vows and other ceremonies.  Weddings From the Heart by Daphne Rose Kingma is a particularly interesting book, with ideas for many different ceremony situations.   Most libraries seem to have this book available.

You can also look in books of quotations (or websites)  for pieces on love, commitment, family, etc.  If you want to look on-line, you might start on the following page.  There are links to some good quote and poem sites.   http://www.foreverwed.com/~sara/
