Bachelor Parties
|
|
SO YOU'VE been picked as best man, and you want
to give your best buddy one of those wild and crazy
"last" big nights on the town as a
bachelor. Swell idea, but no surprises,
please. Before you plan anything outrageous, check
it out first with the groom.
It seems that
thinking wild and crazy is one thing, doing it is
something else. According to those who've served in
the position, the best man should be concerned with
making sure the night runs well, not with trying to
create some kind of legendary "last night out."
As the organizer you should do things like
collecting money for the
party
well in advance (always estimating expenses on
the high side and being prepared to kick in
additional money for
party favors like cigars, champagne, brandy or whatever).
The best man should
encourage the idea of renting a van with a driver or
a limo or, at the very least, selecting a designated
driver.
There's another
thing to do: Turn off your cell phones. You wouldn't
want
the bride-to-be to keep ringing up the groom.
Maybe you should
simply go for something different: Let Others
Provide the Laughs. For your big night out on the
town as a (supposedly) wild and crazy swinging
single, hit a good local comedy club.
Seaweed
Wrap. Is the groom stressed? Instead of a chill
pill, maybe he and his attendants could use a "Day
of Vitality".
Include a seaweed wrap, massage, facial,
exercise classes, sauna or steam bath, saltwater
pool, and a spa lunch
To ease the
morning-after re-entry process,
bachelors
are starting a trend. They're inviting the bride
and her attendants out to brunch, as proof positive
the groom and his guys survived the
party. |
