Gift Ideas for Children in Weddings

It's always a good idea to get children a small gift for participating in your wedding. It does not have to be elaborate and can consist of anything that you deem appropriate for that particular child. Whether this is based on age or the child's personal tastes is a determination you will have to make. There are a number of gifts that have been given to children in weddings. They can range in cost from a few dollars to expensive items. Again, it is the thought that you feel the children are important in the wedding that means the most to them. A gift is not required, it simply reinforces the idea of their importance in the event. In other words, it makes them feel special. Below are a few of the ideas that I have seen.

Jewelry - Many couples choose to give junior bridesmaids their first set of pearls or other nice jewelry. Prices are very reasonable for simple items and they need not cost a lot. As for junior ushers or junior groomsmen, adornments such as tie tacks or cuff links can make them feel grown up.

Heirlooms - Some couples choose to give heirloom gifts. These might include silver (or silver plated) jewelry or treasure boxes, silver picture frames or any item that can be "passed down" to their own children. The heirloom gifts are generally the most expensive as they are intended as heirlooms.

Memories - Other couples choose to give gifts of memories. These gifts can include such items as photos of the couple with the child, a scrapbook of the wedding or even a book with details of the wedding (and the child's role in it).

Other Gift Ideas - Other gift ideas for children may include such things as a set of bride & groom teddy bears, t-shirts (I was the ring-bearer, etc) or books about children in weddings.
